I've been using Linode for a couple years now. I can't begin to describe how great it is. I run a fairly high-volume PHP site and even the most basic plan runs it flawlessly with a low server load. It's great how fast and easy it is to deploy and test out different linux distros (they have like a dozen that install instantly).

The control panel makes it easy to set up and swap virtual disk images and you can reboot without needing a support ticket. It seems like every couple month they increase the RAM and/or storage space that comes with the plans and my specs increase automatically without even having to ask for it.

I haven't had a minute of downtime with them and the one time I had to use their support they were fast friendly and helpful (eg the tech actually had knowledge of linux server administration and wasn't just some guy in india sending form letters)

I'd recommend Linode for anybody.
