I've been with this company for about 4 years now. They used to be excellent, but service and reliability have tanked now.

Great value. You can't beat 9.95/mo, and the servers are very fast.

However, in the last year the server that I am on has crashed twice. Both times the outages were over 2 days, which is completely unacceptable. I'm still waiting for the site to come back on line, and who knows if my data will be completely recovered. Last time it went down they restored files/data from three months before the crash.

Customer service has also slipped a ton.

I have several domains hosted at phpwebhosting for several years. They used to be great, but server and database speed have declined over the past year. Also, while they offer some really great features, like unlimited email accounts and bandwidth (all within reason), their tech support is awful and their help files are incomplete. They also do not offer cpanel which may be a drawback for those not used to working in a *nix environment.

However, they do offer some great features which seem to be limited greatly by other hosts. You can customize many behaviors for your server and individual directories (sub-domains) using custom php.ini files and .htaccess files. You can also host multiple domains on one account.

This hosting company was a great hoster and you get many features you would normally have to pay extra for with other hosting companies.
I have been with them for over 5 years now and have noticed that the support is declinning fast. Looking at my support tickets many go left unanswered which resulted in some domains been moved to other hosting companies.

It is a good hosting, but sadly the support system is extreamly slow and in emergency there is no contact apart from the ticket system which as mentioned is one of the worse I have encountered in 9 years.

Recently a emergency request for support was left for three days without been read. This is not support and help.
